The Azure All India Rapid Rating Open 2022 was one of the most exciting and competitive chess tournaments, with 399 participants, including International Masters (IMs), battling it out in a nine-round Swiss League Rapid Rating format. The tournament took place at the prestigious AVB Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The event had a time control of 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment per player.
Winner: FM S Harshad with an unbeaten score of 8.5/9, securing a prize of ₹30,000.
Second Place: FM Harsh Suresh with a score of 8/9.
Third Place: Gugan G with a score of 8/9.
The top finishers were all born after 2003, showcasing the immense talent among the younger generation.
